The Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics (ADAI) is a nonprofit private institution created in 1990 and associated to the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, which promotes activities of research, development, demonstration, training and monitoring services to the industry.

ADAI is structured in two Research Groups:

Energy,

Environment and Comfort Forest

Fires and Detonics and carries out its activities in the:

Laboratory of Industrial Aerodynamics (LAI, 1986), located near Polo II of the University of Coimbra, with 1500 m2 built area, and accredited according to the rule NP EN ISO/IEC 17025, with the certificate nº L0177.

Laboratory of Forest Fires Studies (LEIF, 1995), located at the regional airport of Lousã, with 1100 m2 and equipped for forest fire research activities.

Laboratory of Energetics and Detonics (LEDAP), located in Condeixa, aimed at the study of detonation and combustion processes of energetic materials.
