A According to its statutes, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) is an institution focused on the creation, communication and transmission of culture, knowledge, science and technology, through the articulation with study, teaching, research and experimental development.
UTAD is organized into five Schools (Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, Sciences and Technology, Life and Environmental Sciences and Nursing School), which sustain around 8000 students distributed by 39 first cycle courses and 72 second and third cycle courses.
